Canada Post

I love our post office. It’s convenient, everyone who I’ve talked to there in the last 4 years has been super sweet and accommodating. Today unfortunately was very much not the case. The tall male worker with short grey hair and glasses was fairly passive aggressive with everyone in line. Making private conversations public ones and clearly creating uncomfortable tension within the room. What really upset me was watching a couple in front of me asking what to do with mail that was in their Po Box that wasn’t theirs be belittled. Not sure if English was their first language but, my tipping point was, they politely asked what to do and asked the man to repeat himself and he aggressively said ‘haha I need you to listen to me when I talk to you’. It was hard looking at the ‘be nice to our staff’ signs all around and watching the worker talk to others so poorly. When trying to ship my own parcel I had asked a few questions. When he replied to me, I felt like he wasn’t talking to me, but instead sharing our conversation/ my information with the entire room. Overall created a disappointing anxious experience. I didn’t end up shipping my parcel as his attitude and obnoxious demeanour was not something I was willing to accept today. I know this time of year gets hard. I know there’s a lot going on in the world. I just don’t think it’s ok to take that out on others in the workplace. Maybe it was just a bad day. If that’s the case I hope they have better ones moving forward
